On the 13th September 2007 Delma had a a few close friends round for a drink and some dinner to celebrate her 43th birthday, it was this day that her symptoms started to appear. Everyone thought that she had alot to drink because her speach was slured, it was not untill a couple of days later that she was diagnosed with Bells Palsy. after taking medication for this with no effect to her. she later went to see another doctor, it was then when she was told she had Myasthenia Gravis – (The Snowflake Disease) Because no one in her family had heard of this before alot of people did not understand why she could no longer hold her head straight whilst talking to you. Her left eye began to drop. and I used to try and make a laugh and a joke about it with her, i would get her to say "ei you guys" from the Goonies. looking back onit it was not in very good taste but it made my mum laugh. In time she got worse and eventually she could not take anymore. She dropped weight off like you and i would take a jumper or a coat off. on the 28th February 2009, on Friday i had spent the night at my friends house as i always did. i came home at 7.30am (something told me i needed to be home) so i sat with mum watched abit of tv. then she told me to go to my room so i did. popping downstairs occasionally to see how she was doing. My mum was very proud and would not ask for help, she shouted at me and told me to get up stairs. it was not untill my dad came home that the nightmare started. My mum passed away in the living room, regardless to the paramedic spending what felt like 5 hours to bring her back. But her heart gave out.
